Okay soooo...site overhaul...YAY! Can't be happier as this incarnation of my website speaks to where my head is at. Hearing the music again, feeling it a little differently and trying new things. I still have some adjustments to make to the site menus, ex. The Buy option will be back up only now, it will have a link for every release including remixes and possibly online retailers who are still keeping Vinyl alive and have some of my choons in stock! I swear digital has its place, but I still LOVE me a hardcopy piece of product, something substantial...God Save VINYL ( and CD's lol) SO yeah, still making revisions.
I love this time of the year! It may be cold outside but all the more reason to chillax and get things done. As I always do, I start the new year off spending much of my time for the first few months being introspective and as relaxed as I possibly can be. For me it's the time to take stock of what you have, what's going on in your world and then plan what you are going to do next. And this year is no different.
Some things you do because they are practical. Other things you do because they just feel soooo good in your soul! This is one of those times. I have been wanting to share this collection of songs for so long, and although it would be practical to charge people for it...simply put; I don't do what I do for monitary gain. Don't get it twisted, It's nice to get paid for your work, verrry nice, but I am only able to do it because I feel first and that is a gift. A gift I respect.
The TRUTH about " I Wanna Go" (In my own words...)
Written By, Jannae Jordan
Intro: I write these words not to slander anyone, I used no names as in the grand scheme of things this isn't just about "them". This is me talking about MY song and how I feel and have been affected by a case of severe and blatant copyright infringement. My objective is to convey the impact of such matters on the affected Artists. Sadly, my story isn't special, this happens all the time. But my story is unique for me as it is mine. If this touches you and you wish to join me in TRUTH, please share my story and perhaps yours with others.
This is for my Mom & Dad and STRONG and talented Family; who taught me to respect GOD, the law,...
Had a heavy summer of music, music and MUSIC, and RADIO exposure! YEAH!!!!! Now it's time for the Fall , whenever it really starts to feel like Fall that is. For now, it's time to chill for a second then get back to work!
I have to thank my music family world wide for making it happen and for continuing to grind. As things stand right now, both "TIME" and "Choose You" are hanging in there on some of the hottest Club and Radio DJ's charts. As we all know getting radio play is a big big, huge deal! Especially for Indie Artists and Labels.
I remember the first time I caught myself on the radio. It was many many moons ago and it was a song that has never been released, we never got around to finishing it (That's a totally different story, possible future blog LOL). Anyhoo, I remember being in the car on a saturday...
August, 2010
What a summer! I am beyond tickled about having kicked off this Summer with nothing but love and good stuff in the way of new music NEWS!
Okay, so it started back in May with "Choose You" Produced by El Prevost , which was released out of France on Stalwart Records. "Choose You" is strictly for those who like that edgy soulful electronica vibe and it was beautifully delivered by El, Wbeeza, Dj Rork and Carl Michael. MUCH Respect to the Stalwart team for believing in this project enough to release it on Vinyl as well as digital. YES, VINYL LIVES! Then June, back to back releases; Consortium Muzik revisited, revamped, and released the 2010 remix package of "Me" ,original Demo vocal Produced by DJ Camacho,(previously released in 2006) 2010 Remixes by, Jonny Montana, Tony Loreto, Mark Di Meo, ChrisIDH, and Setso Makwe. These guys totally weeerked and oldie and made...
Here are a few things that I’ve learned thus far along my journey on this crazy blue marble as a human, a woman, an African American woman and an Artist… just when you think you know what IS, you quickly find out that it isn’t. Hearing “No, you can’t” isn’t the worse thing that can happen to you, believing it is. Sci-fi is good stuff!!! And, well there’s lots more but I will fast forward to the actual point of this blog entry…okay…so the biggest thing that I have learned thus far along my journey on this crazy blue marble as a human, a woman, an African American woman and an Artist is this; to thine own self be true! Because if you don’t do what you feel in your heart the only person you will have to blame is self.
SO here’s the deal, I’ve been told that I’m...
